Estate's Stalking Lodge, Duchally, is nestled on a hillside
at the head of Glen Cassley, affording stunning views out
across virgin forest and untamed heather all the way to
the mountains of Scotland’s west coast.
The accommodation is set across a single floor and sleeps
up to eight in comfort. Centrally heated throughout, the
lodge also features open fires to welcome you home and insulate
you through the night. A large, yet intimate lounge is perfect
for a late warming tipple or a family film, whilst a superbly
equipped kitchen provides for any type of culinary requirement.
The Lodge also has a washing machine and tumble drier, whilst
a housekeeping and shopping service can also be provided
on request.
An original crofter’s lodge, Duchally has kept its
heritage through sensitive and cultured refurbishment to
provide extremely comfortable and cosy accommodation within
the heart of the rugged Highlands. Supine Red Deer and the
elusive Sika Deer can be seen daily from the Lodge, and
guests can even hand feed them in the wintertime when they
come down from the higher ground. The sheer majesty of witnessing
Ospreys, Harriers and even Golden Eagles in their natural
habitats is a priceless experience.
There are many memorable outdoor activities that can be
enjoyed on this Estate, from gentle walks and picnics to
orienteering, clay pigeon shooting and deer stalking (please
enquire in advance). The Estate employs its own professional
and friendly Gamekeeper on site to assist guests of all
levels of ability who may wish to shoot, providing both
equipment and guidance.
The River Cassley - well known for its salmon fishing -
runs directly past the Lodge, whilst a trout pool immediately
outside allows youngsters to try their first hands at fishing.
The fresh air, adventure and liberating atmosphere are all
guaranteed to exhaust children of all ages after a day’s
exploration of the bounteous valley below. If you are a
lover of all things outdoors then Duchally Lodge, one of
Scotland’s more remote and fascinating gems, is for
