Because our cottages are located on three different estates and in two very different parts of the Highlands, it’s a good idea to start off by deciding the sort of activities you want to do and how far away you want to be from larger towns etc. So here’s a basic guide to get you started…
Our five cottages and lodges at Balnagown Estate will suit you perfectly. For one the estate is just an easy 30 minute drive from Inverness, but closer still there’s the town of Tain and the lovely small town of Dornoch. There’s lots to see and do on the estate and close by, with activities on the estate including cycling (we have our own bikes here which are free to use), fishing for trout on a well-stocked loch, archery, clay pigeon shooting, walking and watching nature. We also have an excellent sports and games hall which is free to use. There are first-class golf courses relatively close-by at Tain, Dornoch, Golspie and Brora.
All five cottages and lodges at Balnagown offer a high degree of luxury and comfort, and indeed all are five star rated by the Scottish Tourist Board. We have a further three cottages and lodges located on our two more northerly estates of Invercassley and Duchally in the county of Sutherland. These properties are all popular with our guests who stay with us for sporting activities, but also for walking, bird watching and exploring the northern Highlands.
All three properties provide a high degree of comfort, with Inveroykel Lodge rated five star by the Scottish Tourist Board, and Tigh na Rhos and Duchally Lodge all rated four star. And if it’s something really remote you’re after, then Duchally Lodge is definitely for you.
