Whether you’re after a cottage for just 2 people or a lodge for a large group of up to 12, at Balnagown Estates we have just what you’re looking for. With a choice of 8 holiday cottages and lodges across our three Highland estates, the perfect selection of Scottish holiday cottages is on offer.
With just £100 deposit you can secure a booking on any of our nine cottages and lodges which are located on three separate estates:
Balnagown Estate is very different to our other two estates, as it sits in a softer landscape and kinder climate. In fact this part of the Highlands receives only around a third of the rainfall the west coast does, and with more gently rolling hills, woodland, lowland farmland, plus with plenty of villages and towns nearby, it’s a real alternative to the more rugged and relatively remote locations of Invercassley and Duchally Estates.
The five cottages and lodges at Balnagown are all of an exceptional standard, with all being rated 5 star by the Scottish Tourist Board. Four of the five properties also have the rare advantage of being within the gated grounds of the estate and close to Balnagown Castle, with this giving complete security and peace of mind to guests. And there’s lots to do, with our sports and games hall, free use of bikes and miles of private tracks and roads to ride them on, archery, fishing, clay pigeon shooting, bird watching – we have nesting ospreys on the estate – or of course you don’t have to do anything but sit back and relax! There are individual videos you can watch now for each property plus one which covers the estate, so please take some time to have a good look.
The Scottish holiday properties on our two northern estates in Sutherland are also of a very high quality. However, they favour guests who want a more rugged Highland location and also cater for our guests with an interest in sporting pursuits. In addition, Tigh na Rhos, which is close to the lovely village of Rosehall, is an ideal base for exploring the northern Scottish Highlands.
